The Photographs

All of my works embody their own language and point to a deeper connection between our true inner and outer nature. They are at times poetic, mystical, reflective, or confrontational. My primary medium is photography, developed with translucent modifications and deliberately appointed color nuances detailed by targeted fine gradations. Elements include allegorical flowers, landscapes and architectural forms, dense forest situations, translucent portraits, objects from nature, mythologies, fairy tales and poetry.

I feel a profound connection to the romantic natural philosophy. For me, a tree is a sanctuary and a forest a place of stillness, longing and origin. I perceive flowers as wondrous embodiment of forces that can also be found in humanity and that cannot only be grasped rationally. Nature, emotions, imagination and the individual are my subjects of boundless curiosity.

The Nature

The infusion of nature helps us to stimulate our five main senses and calibrate them to their most natural and balanced state. This enhances our true sense of sensitivity, alertness and reflection, as well as our physical well-being. Such perceptions are mediated through emotions created by the wonder of nature. In an effort to gain these repercussions, a ‘real’ nature, if it is not accessible, can be counterbalanced with photographic works of art and integrated into room and space.

The Color

The spectrum of color plays a significant role in my works and the world in which we live in. Every nuance of a color has a different tone, frequency and wavelength, which affects our perception and induces different emotions and feelings. The hue is not just a surface refinement, but a pure language, almost like a real structural component of every single material. In photography especially, the elements can be highlighted and defined with strong, modified distinctions.

The Architecture

“You employ stone, wood, and concrete, and with these materials you build houses and palaces: that is construction. Ingenuity is at work. But suddenly you touch my heart, you do me good. I am happy and I say: ‘This is beautiful.’ That is Architecture. Art enters in.” ~ Le Corbusier

Our relationships with architecture are very intimate, very fundamental; it cultivates and shapes us. The combination of photographic works of art coupled with innovative, modern and sustainable architecture, which transforms the synthesis of the two into much more than the sum of their components, can crown an environment.

The Background

For many years I have received a rather tortures training from the artist and photographer Klaus Laubmayer, who introduced me to his principles and philosophies of his photographic practices. Klaus is predominantly drawn to the world beyond the surface and reflects in his work on cultural, political, moral and ethical questions. Notably, Klaus creates translucent art portraits using emotions generated by words. A multidimensional interpretation of an interior emotional landscape.

In addition to the craft of photography, Klaus taught me how to do the groundwork necessary and how to build a solid foundation. During this time, I gradually began to discover my authentic self, which evolved to the development of my own artistic voice.

Other notable inspirations and artistically influences are Caspar David Friedrich, Claude Monet, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Gerhard Richter, Georgia O’Keffee, and Louise Bourgeois.
